
La Coruña, Spain – December 08, 2024 – The €320,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Grand Prix – Casas Novas CSI 5*-W promised top-tier spectacle to close the A Coruña CSI 5*-W, and it undoubtedly lived up to the expectations of the crowd that packed the indoor arena at Casas Novas.
40 of the best riders in the world were prepared to compete in the big class with a clear goal: to win the Grand Prix and earn points to qualify for the Basel World Cup Final.
The scenary was excellent for this competition: one of the better arenas on the circuit and a class with jumps at 1.60m, and a timed jump-off.
The riders didn´t wait to show their skills and 15 of them qualified for the final jump-off.

The indoor arena at Casas Novas lived an exciting jump-off, where no one could beat Philipp Weishaupt (GER). The German rider delivered a brilliant performance with Coby 8, clocking in at 36.11 seconds.

After his great victory, the German rider declared: “Coby 8 is so good at indoors, and he usually jumps really well here in A Coruña, so I´m very happy”.
The second-fastest rider in the class was the last to start the jump-off: Robert Whitaker of Great Britain. Riding Vermento, he completed the class in an incredible time of 36.56 seconds.
The third position in this Grand Prix was the most exciting for the crowd. Spanish rider Jesús Garmendia (ESP) finish the round in 37.19 seconds, a time that allowed him to dream of victory for much of the jump-off. Finally, Jesús and Callias, concluded the championship with an impressive third place.
Another edition of one of the most expected CSI 5*-W for riders, horses, and fans came to an end. Casas Novas once again provided to us moments of excitement and top-level competition.
