Toronto, Canada โ November 07, 2024 โ The CSI 5*-W afternoon competition brough much excitement to the Royal Horse Show, the $32,250 Brickenden Trophy CSI 5*-W, serving as a prelude to the Mad Barn Big Ben Challenge with Great Britainโs Jessica Mendoza (GBR) being welcomed to the winnerโs circle aboard I-Cap CL Z.

Only three of the seventeen first-round entries advanced to the tiebreaker. In the end, it was Mendoza who mastered the course and the competition aboard the 12-year-old bay Zangersheide gelding (I’m Special de Muze x Air Jordan) she owns with her mother. The dynamic duo earned top honors in the 1.50m challenge backed by a penalty-free jump-off performance in 34.06 seconds.
The other two combinations in the decisive round also managed to go clean all the way to the wire. Daniel Bluman (ISR) and Hummer Z secured reserve honors in 34.48 seconds while Sean Jobin (CAN) and Coquelicot vh Heuvelland Z rounded out the top three in 35.13 seconds.
Jessica is hoping to climb one spot higher on the podium this Saturday. At last yearโs Royal Horse Show, the pair placed second in the $272,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cupโข Toronto and are hoping to go one better on Saturday night.
