Helsinki, Finland – October 26, 2024 – Serving as the prelude to super Sunday and the €250,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup ™ Helsinki CSI 5*-W, the the €100,000 Helsinki Grand Trophy CSI 5*-W was held on Saturday at the 2024 Helsinki International Horse Show and a familiar face of the noble sport rose to the occasion: Martin Fuchs (SUI) on L&L Upgrade.
Thirteen of the original 33 entries managed to leave all the poles up and complete the first round of the 1.60m contest within the time allowed of 71 seconds, thus qualifying for the jump-off. In the end, it was Fuchs who flew to first aboard the 11-year-old bay Westphalian gelding (Ultimo x Baloubet du Rouet), registering no penalties in 33.43 seconds.

Yuri Mansur (BRA) adds another chapter to an amazing story with Vitiki. After having a freak accident at Aachen back in 2018 and having seven screws inserted into one of his legs, the 16-year-old chestnut Hanoverian (Valentino x For Expo) continues to defy the odds, not only making a comeback to the top of the sport, but being very competitive. The dynamic duo posted two flawless performances again, completing the jump-off in 34.18 seconds for silver honors.

Angelica Augustusson Zanotelli (SWE) and Deesse de Coquerie (Consul di Vie Z x Papillon Rouge) was right on the heels of the latter two, finishing third by just four hundredths of a second more, timed in 34.22 seconds.
