Martin Fuchs & Commissar Pezi’s “Flawless Flight” Tops the €308,600 Defender Grand Prix of Switzerland CSIO 5*

St. Gallen, Switzerland – June 02, 2024 – Despite adverse weather conditions throughout the week that forced the cancellation of most FEI-level competitions, the 2024 Longines CSIO St. Gallen CSIO 5* came to conclusion in grand fashion on Sunday. To the delight of the home crowd, Martin Fuchs (SUI) and Commissar Pezi delivered the only “flawless flight” around the first-round course, claiming top honors in the €308,600 Defender Grand Prix of Switzerland CSIO 5*.

Not only difficulty posed by adverse weather conditions, but also the difficulty of Gérard Lachat‘s (SUI) first-round course and the time allowed of 78 seconds kept the much expected jump-off from taking place. Second and third place were claimed by competitors who had left all the poles up but had a time penalty attributed to their score.

Abdulrahman Alrajhi (KSA) and Ventago were unlucky, crossing the finish line just three-tenths of a second over the limit (78.30), still managing to earn a very respectable second place.

Romain Duguet (SUI) and Hunger Games du Champ du Bois had the same fate, breaking the beam the timers in 78.50 seconds, good enough to put another Swiss rider on the podium, in third place.
