Kevin Staut & Visconti du Telman Part Ways But Ride Triumphantly in Gothenburg!

Gothenburg, Sweden โ€“ February 23, 2024 โ€“ The French dominated when the weekend’s first international jumping classes were decided in Scandinavium. Julien Anquetin had already won the โ‚ฌ28,380 Hรถรถks Prize CSI 5*-W and in the evening’s 1.50 class Kevin Staut (FRA) won with flying colours โ€“ as well as flying off and parting ways with Visconti du Telman after the finish line.

The international riders got to experience the arena in Scandinavium โ€“ and liked it. In Thursday’s top class, the Prize of Mips, almost half the starting field produced clear rounds in the preliminary round. The jump-off was fast and for a long time it looked like local rider Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) would win, but then Kevin Staut (FRA), an extremely well-qualified Frenchman, came and rode a few fractions faster.

The Frenchman and the 15-year-old bay Selle Franรงais mare (Toulon x Dollar du Murier) completed the jump-off in 35.75 seconds.

Emma Emanuelsson (SWE) & Canbella Blue PS

The Swede and Canbella Blue PS completed her second fault-free performance in 36 seconds flat.

“I won and flew away, it will be a good anecdote from Gothenburg, mused a happy Frenchman after the victory. I am so happy with my horse. She did a super round, commented Kevin Staut on Visconti du Telman, a mare he has ridden for four years.”

Shortly after the finish, Visconti galloped in one direction โ€“ and Staut in another. The rider immediately got up, petted his horse and walked off the track without injury โ€“ just a very good special memory from Gothenburg Horse Show.

– It is a super sensitive horse and she is a bit shy of spotlights on the ground and when it dissolved in front of us at the same time as the arena fencing approached, we chose different paths… On Sunday the Visconti du Telman starts in the World Cup.

Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) & Calizi

Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Calizi completed the top three in 36.70 seconds.

Emma Emanuelsson on Canbella Blue PS was โ€“ if possible โ€“ even happier than Kevin Staut after her runner-up placing: “I would have been just as happy regardless of the placing today. My horse felt fantastic,” said Emma who will ride the Gothenburg Trophy with Canbella on Saturday evening.
