Wellington, Florida, USA – January 13, 2024 – It`s showtime for showjumping at the 2024 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) with the running of the first FEI-level grand prix of the season, the $140,000 Southern Arches Grand Prix CSI 3*. Once again, Wellington International has attracted heavyweights of the noble sport for the feature class of the week: Kent Farrington (USA), McLain Ward (USA), Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA), Ben Maher (GBR), Laura Kraut (USA), Cian O’Connor (IRL), Darragh Kenny (IRL), Amanda Derbyshire (GBR), Lillie Keenan (USA), Erynn Ballard (CAN), Luiz Francisco de Azevedo (BRA), Spencer Smith (USA), Natalie Dean (USA), amongst others.
McLain Ward (USA) and First Lady will be the pathfinders to enter the International Ring as the class is set to start at 07:00 PM (EST New York Time) but the broadcast begins 30 minutes earlier. After winning the first two major classes this week there, Darragh Kenny (IRL) will have the advantage of being the last one to go in the first round, looking to make it a sweep.
