Christian Ahlmann, 14 World Cup Victories!

Casas Novas, La Coruña, Spain – November 30, 2023 –The 2023 CSI5*-W A Coruña is the seventh event of the European Longines FEI World Cup League, and there we will see the top world riders. One of them will be Christian Ahlmann (GER) who has the record of victories in the Longines FEI World Cup Grands Prix. 

Christian Ahlmann (GER), winner of the individual and teammate gold medal in the European Championship of 2003, dispute at Casas Novas his first Longines FEI World Cup event of this year, so he needs to earn his first points if he wants to qualify for the Riyadh final between April 16 and 24, 2024. If he gets qualified, it will be his ninth appearance in a Longines FEI World Cup final.

Alhmann won the World Cup Final in 2011 with  “Taloubet Z”, one of the greatest horses on his stable, with him he got the victory in eight World Cup Grand Prix, like Ifema Madrid Horse Week in 2015. 

Precisely, it was in that World Cup edition in which he achieved more victories in indoor Grand Prixes. Before Madrid, he won at Stuttgart, and after competing at the capital of Spain, he became the winner at Mechelen. Only three victories separate him from the record of Jos Lansink, who won four Grand Prixes in the same edition, in 1993-1994 with “Líbero H”. 

Christian Ahlmann is an usual of the Longines FEI World Cup, he has fourteen Grand Prixes with six different horses, from 2006-2007 when he won at Leipzig and Göteborg with “Cöster”, to 2018-2019 when he got the first position at Mechelen with “Clintrexo Z”, and at Leipzig with “Caribis Z”.
