Barcelona, Spain – November 26, 2023 – It was a busy week for showjumping in Spain with two FEI-level horse shows. If Ben Maher (GBR) and Enjeu de Grisien came up just short representing Great Britain in the €163,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup – City of Madrid Grand Prix CSI 5*-W, Jessica Hewlett (GBR) made sure the Union Jack was flying high above the rest in the €26,500 Grand Prix of Barcelona CSI 2*.
The first week of the Barcelona Christmas Tour culminated with the 1.45m jump-off challenge contested by 53 combinations. Six pairs managed to advance to the tiebreaker but it was the British rider and the 2013 chestnut gelding who came out on top, doing so in 38.38 seconds.
