Oliva Nova, Spain – November 10, 2023 – It seems that the sunshine and pleasant weather at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour brings out the best in Jérôme Guery. In fact, on Friday it brought out the best in Belgians as they stole away the spotlight, claiming all the top three positions in the €27,100 Rent a Car Dénia Trophy CSI 3*.
Guery (BEL) lead the “Red Devils” aboard Come Away Flamingo Z, the 14-year-old bay Zangersheide mare (Cardento x Dollar du Murier). The duo were supreme in the 1.45m speed challenge, coming away with the win after a fault-free blazing performance in 63.22 seconds.
Vincent Lambrecht (BEL) and Varennes du Breuil (Jarnac x Fetiche du Pas) were over two seconds slower in 65.38 seconds, still good enough for reserve honors while the all-Belgian podium was completed by Karel Cox (BEL) on Viva La Vida Z, the latter two being timed in 67.50 seconds.
