Grimaud, France – October 12, 2023 – A French victory on home soil! Mathieu Lambert (FRA) made sure the victory in the feature class on Thursday belonged to Les Bleus at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud CSI 3* & CSI 2*. Lambert lit up on Cayetano Loisel, securing the win in the €27,200 Hubside Prix CSI 3*.
Sixty-seven combinations entered the ring for the 1.45m two-phase challenge but it was the Frenchman and 2012 bay Selle Français gelding (Oslo du Chalet x Diamant de Semilly) who were clean all the way to the wire and registered the fastest final time, conquering victory after a performance of 31.82 seconds in the second section of the course.
After their win one week before in the €27,200 Grand Prix TV Two-Phase Special Challenge CSI 3* at the same venue, Jessica Springsteen (USA) and Naomi van het Keizershof came close to another triumph, but this time the dyanamic duo had to settle for second place, completing phase two just shy of 32 seconds flat.
Julien Gonin (FRA) joined his fellow countryman amongst the top three by guiding Valou de Lys in flawless fashion too, rounding out the top three in 32.46 seconds.
