Katrin Eckermann & Chao Lee Show Fantastic Form in Win at Germany

Pinneberg, Germany – August 04, 2023 – Katrin Eckermann (GER) and Patrick Stühlmeyer (GER) set the “standards” on Friday, the third day of the CSI Hof Waterkant tournament: Eckermann won the world ranking list competition with the fast Chao Lee, which was endowed with €55,600 euros in the Eickendorf Horses & Meyer-Zimmermann Sport & Business Group Prize CSI 5*. The Rhinelander mare (Comme Il Faut x Chacco-Blue) is exactly ten years old and she was bred by Katrin’s father Otmar Eckermann and is also owned by him – a “family horse” so to speak. European Championship runner-up, Christian Kukuk (GER) from Riesenbeck took second place with Checker 47.

This was preceded by a jump-off, which a total of 18 combinations took part in. But not everyone competed in the final round – after all, there are still a few challenges on Saturday and Sunday. Eckermann and the mare were supreme in the tiebreaker, setting the winning mark in 35.69 seconds.

Kukuk (GER) and Checker 47 (Comme Il Faut x Come On) matched the double clear of the winning duo but had to settle for second place due to their final time of 36.37 seconds.

Rolf-Goran Bengtsson (SWE) and Zuccero (VDL Zirocco Blue x Caretino 2) completed the podium in flawless fashion too, securing third place just one-tenth of a second slowerthan the previous pair in the decisive round.
