Abdel Said & Arpege du Ru Race to First at the Falsterbo Horse Show CSIO 5*

Falsterbo, Sweden – July 13, 2023 – The first day CSIO 5* competitiong at the 2023 Falsterbo Horse Show CSIO 5* got off to a great start on Thursday and it was Abdel Said (BEL) and Arpege du Ru who stole the spotlight, claiming the first qualifier. Starting it in the best way for the Falsterbo audience – with a flawless Swedish team, were Erika Lickhammer-van Helmond (SWE) together with Hesjedal NL establishing the first flawless performance. A total of 61 combinations came to the start, of which 23 registered a clean scorecard.

What was required in the was to ride fast and flawlessly – which Abdel Said (BEL) and the 13-year-old Selle Français (Apache d’Adriers x Quat’Sous) were the best, winning Thursday’s qualifier for the Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix in 62.52 seconds.

It was a one-two for Belgium as Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and Klaartje Z (Kannan / Flipper D’Elle*HN*) secured silver honors in 63.65 seconds.

The best Swede was Jens Fredricson (SWE), finishing in third place backed by a time of 63.80 seconds.

On Saturday, the next qualifier takes place before the big Longines Falsterbo Grand Prix is ​​decided at the International Show Jumping Arena.
