
Rotterdam, The Netherlands – June 24, 2023 – Pieter Devos (BEL) and Jarina J won the €60,000 Championship of Rotterdam and the Maison van den Boer Award to his name. In an exciting jump-off, the Belgian was too fast for the Dutchmen Pim Mulder (NED) and Harrie Smolders (NED).
Fourteen combinations remained clear in the first round of this CSIO 5* star class over 1.50 meters and could compete for the victory in the jump-off. Pieter Devos (NED) and the 9-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood – Royal Dutch Sport Horse mare (Cicero Z van Paemel x Harley) cleared the course in 32.40 seconds, a time that the rest of the field could not match.
Pim Mulder (NED) and Memphis Z (Mylord Carthago*HN x Candillo) also remained clear but had to leave the win to Devos with a time of 33.27 seconds.
After two strong rides in the Nations Cup CSIO 5* the previous day with Monaco N.O.P., helping the Orangemen claim the win, Harrie Smolders (NED) claimed third place with Deesse de Kerglenn (Mylord Carthago*HN x Crusador)in a time of 33.40 seconds.
