La Baule, France – June 11, 2023 – Serving as the prelude to the €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix Ville de La Baule CSIO 5*, there was another CSIO 5* class on Sunday at the Jumping International de La Baule CSIO 5*, the €26,200 Grand Prix Prize CSIO 5*(1.45 m, two phases).
France had greater success with a win by ‘Rocket Man’ Julien Épaillard (FRA). Winners of the the €26,200 Départment de Loire-Atlantique Prize CSIO 5* on Thursday with the same mount the world number 2 repeated his performance on Hoover, guiding the 2012 grey Dutch Warmblood / Royal Dutch Sport Horse stallion (Clinton x Carthago) ahead of Ireland’s Cian O’Connor (IRL) and Germaine W (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Armstrong), being over a second faster, timed in 24.56 seconds compared to the latter’s duo final time of 25.82 seconds.
Belgium’s Grégory Wathelet (BEL) Berline du Maillet Z (Berlin x Action Breaker) completed the top three, being clean all the way to the wire and crossing the second-phase timers in 25.94 seconds.
