
Cannes, France – June 08, 2023 – France gets off to a great start on home soil! Jerôme Hurel (FRA) and Casanova d’Anbel conquered a win on Friday, the opening day of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Cannes CSI 5*, topping the €26,200 JW Marriott Cannes Prix CSI 5*.
Forty-two combinations lined up for the 1.45m challenge but it was the Hurel and the 11-year-old chestnut gelding (Jarnac x Polack II) who came out on top advancing to phase 2 and completing it in flawless fashion too, securing the win in 26.49 seconds.
Eric van der Vleuten (NED) and Dreamland (Sunday de Riverland x For Pleasure) were also clean all the way to the final timers securing the second spot on the podium in 27.11 seconds while Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) and Pegasus Jataki (Jamal v. Heffinck x Waitaki) completed the top three in 28.54 seconds.
