San Juan Capistrano, California, USA – May 18, 2023 –International competition got underway last Friday during the Blenheim Surf & Turf International CSI 2* at Rancho Mission Viejo Riding Park and it was a youngster who has had several major wins out on the west coast that continued to thrive. Once again it was Elisa Broz (USA) and her faithful partner Tinkerbell who rose to the occasion, claiming top honors in the $38,700 Speed Classic CSI 2*.

The 19-year-old rider and the 13-year-old bay Mecklenburg mare (Chacco-Blue x Silvio I) were supreme in the speed challenge by clearing all the 1.45m obstacles and stopping the timers in 67.05 seconds.
Only two combinations left all the poles up and Ian Mcfarlane (USA) and Escapado S (Whitesnake x Elfaro) who earned reserve honors.
Another teenage sensation claimed the third spot on the podium. Skylar Wireman (USA) and Karen were the fastest pair but a pole down meant four penalty-points incurred to the score, still earning bronze honors with their time of 66.06 seconds.
