Daniel Bluman Tops the Field in $38,700 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 4* at Old Salem Farm

North Salem, New York, USA โ€“ May 18, 2023 โ€“ Claiming an early lead in Thursdayโ€™s $38,700 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 4*, Daniel Bluman (ISR) proved uncatchable aboard quick-footed Cachemire de Braize; the pair sliced and diced their way to victory over Alan Wadeโ€™s (IRL) 16-effort course at the 2023 Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows, posting the fastest double-clear score in 26.47 seconds.

The Old Salem Farm Spring Horse Shows are one of the premier stops on the nationโ€™s hunter-jumper horse show circuit, offering a full schedule of world-class competition May 9-14 and May 16-21 that features the nationโ€™s best in equestrian sport.

Sixty-three horse-and-rider combinations stepped into the Old Salem Farm International Arena to kick off the weekโ€™s CS I4* competition, with Bluman and Over The Top Stables LLCโ€™s 11-year-old Selle Franรงais gelding ultimately clinching the win.

McLain Ward (USA) & Catoki

After helping Team USA claim an FEI Nations Cup win in California over the weekend, McLain Ward (USA) gave it his all with speed specialist Catoki but couldnโ€™t quite make Blumanโ€™s blistering time. Ward and Marilla Van Beurenโ€™s 14-year-old Westphalian gelding stopped the clock in 27.06 seconds to land in second place.

Katie Dinan (USA) & Atika Des Hauts Vents

Katie Dinan (USA) rounded out the top three with Grant Road Partners LLCโ€™s 13-year-old Selle Franรงais mare Atika Des Hauts Vents, tripping the timers in 27.12 seconds.
