Samuel Parot & Cap West Top $585,000 Visa Two-Phase Challenge CSI 2* at Otomí

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – May 04, 2023 – After a stellar week hosting the CSIO 5* of Mexico highlighted by the Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Mexico CSIO 5*, FEI action was back on at the Otomí Club Hípico and it was Samuel Parot (CHI) and Cap West who stole the spotlight.

The Chilean rider and the 11-year-old chestnut gelding (Chacco-Blue x Hors La Loi) were supreme in the 1.45m, beating out 21 other combinations who had also advanced to phase 2, doing so after a penalty-free performance all the way to the final timers in 32.39 seconds.

The host nation was denied a victory by just over three tenths of a second as Nicolas Pizarro Suarez Martinez (MEX) and Mamacita rode towards silver honors in 33.70 seconds. Mexico also claimed the third spot on the podium when Hector Caro Elenes (MEX) and Carabela crossed the final timers in 33.89 seconds.
