
Wellington, Florida, USA – April 21, 2023 – Ever since taking a trip out to the west coast for a few competitions, Luis Sabino Gonçalves (POR) has made the United States his home because the wins keep coming and have never stopped. After winning the $39,000 FreeJump Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 3* with Vick du Croisy seven days before at the same venue, the dynamic duo were back on top again at Wellington International, this time in the $39,000 Resilient Fitness Qualifier CSI 3*.

The $39,000 Resilient Fitness CSI 3* Qualifier showcased an international field of riders representing 20 countries competing for a place in Sunday’s $146,000 Palm Beach County Sports Commission Grand Prix CSI 3*. Portuguese rider Luis Sabino Gonçalves (POR) sailed through the finish flags in 39.23 seconds with Vick du Croisy, a 14-year-old grey Selle Français mare (Lord Carthago x Vondeen) owned by Sigma Stables, to take home the victory.

Shane Sweetnam (IRL) and Spy Coast Farm’s Out of the Blue SCF cleared the jump-off in 40.47 seconds to finish in second.

Nicole Shahinian-Simpson (USA) rounded out the podium with a double-clear time of 42.07 seconds aboard Akuna Mattata for owner Silver Raven Farms.
