Arezzo, Italy – April 09, 2023 – The third week of the 2023 Toscana Tour came to a thrilling conclusion on Sunday at the Arezzo Equestrian Centre, featuring a duel between a former number-one versus a current top top 10 rider in the world. Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Steve Guerdat (SUI) provided much excitment as the two great equestrians battled for the jackpot in the €100,200 Kep Grand Prix CSI 4*.

In the end, it was Zanotelli and Harwich VDL who zoomed past Guerdat and six other combinations who had qualified for the tiebreaker out of the original 50 pairs that took to the skies in the first round. The Brazilian and the VDL Stud’s 11-year-old Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood gelding (Arezzo VDL x Darco) blazed through the 1.50m course before crossing the finish line in 42.36 seconds for the win.
Steve Guerdat (SUI) did put on a valiant effort with Albfuehren’s Maddox (Cohiba 1198 x Maraton) but the pure sheer speed of the eventual winners proved to be too much for them, finishing second in 43.94 seconds.
Three different nations climbed onto the podium as François Xavier Boudant (FRA) and Brazyl du Mezel (Haloubet De Gorze x Apache d’Adriers) registered the third fastest jump-off performance in 44.37 seconds for bronze honors.
