Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – March 16, 2023 – It was a busy Thursday at the XIX Andalucía Sunshine Tour CSI 4*. The €10,150 Barceló Conil Playa Trophy CSI 4* had so many entries, 115 in all; that the class had to be split into two sections, each one having their respective winner. However, it did not change much as the top two winning places were taken by top Irish riders! The fastest round of the day by far and, early on in this speed class, was from recently arrived Richard Howley who flew around the class on the Mansini LTD, who is by (Caressini L x Marramas) and owned by Lennart Lindelöw.
Howley’s time aboard the 14-year-old bay Swedish Warmblood gelding (Caressini L x Marramas) was impossible to beat as the pair stopped the timers in 56.31 seconds despite leaving all the poles set up on the large grass Davis Broome arena.
Derin Demirsoy (TUR) wasn’t far behind, riding Caprice d’Elle (Papillon Rouge) in flawless fashion too, completing their round in 59.82 seconds.
Three different nations claimed the top three spots on the podium asDuarte Seabra (POR) guided HHS Washington (Tinaranas Inspector x Cavalier Royale) towards bronze honors backed by a penalty-free performance in 61.77 seconds.
