Bordeaux, France – February 05, 2023 – Showjumping got off to a great start on Super Sunday at the 2023 edition of the Jumping International de Bordeaux CSI 5*-W and it was a crowd favorite and national equestrian hero who delighted French spectators with the win. Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) guided Candy d’Elle past all other competitors to savor the sweet taste of victory in the €27,000 France Info France Bleu Prize CSI 5*-W.

Twenty-four combinations tackled the course designed by €27,000 France Info France Bleu Prize CSI 5*-W for the accumulator with joker class, featuring obstacles set at the height of 1.45m meters. In the end, it was Léprévost and the 11-year-old bay Selle Français mare (Conrad x J’ai l’Espoir d’Elle) who came out on top, doing so in flawless fashion for the maximum possible points (65) while being timed in 53.04 seconds.
Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) and Hollywood were almost a full two seconds faster, however they suffered the same fate as three other pairs who had a lower time than Pénélope’s, all knocking down poles, thus being out of contention for the title.

Compared to them, Lars Bak Andersen (DEN) was a bit more conservative aboard Doolys (Cannavaros x Lantaan) and the strategy paid off. They cleared all the fences for 65 points too before crossing the finish line 55.78 seconds for the runner-up position.

Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE) and Kendrick 4 (Kannan x Quattro) was over five seconds off the winning mark but their score of 65 points and clean round in 58.27 seconds was more than enough to earn them bronze honors.
