Basel, Switzerland – January 12, 2023 – Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE) and Fire Loops 2 M got off to a great start on Thursday at the 2023 edition of the Longines CHI Classics, claiming the win in the CHF $15,800 Gönnerclub Pferdesport Basel CSI 5*-W.

The Swede and the 12-year-old bay gelding (Florencio x Qredo de Paulstra) were on fire in the 1.40m speed challenge, completing it in flawless fashion while being timed in 54.17 seconds.

A young star on the rise, Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) was almost a full second slower with Carla (Comme Il Faut / Potsdam NRW), securing second place in 55.14 seconds.

Before going on to win the  CHF $30,300 Bemer Prize CSI 5*-W, Victor Bettendorf (LUX) guided Simolo de La Roque (Spartacus TN x Casall) towards the final spot on the podium of the class against the clock, registering no penalties in 55.25 seconds.
