Riesenbeck, Germany – December 01, 2022 – A victory is always a victory but even better when you win at home. That’s exactly what Philipp Weishaupt (GER) achieved on Thursday at the Riesenbeck International, guiding Just Be Gentle to first place in the €25,875 Speed Challenge CSI 2* .
A rider of Ludger Beerbaum’s stables, the owner of the equestrian venue, Weishaupt was anything but gentle to the other 55 riders who completed the 1.45m course, completing it in flawless fashion while blazing across the finish line in 58.78 seconds for the win on the 2014 bay Royal Dutch Sport Horse – Dutch Warmblood stallion (Tyson x Ticallux Verte) 58.78
Annelies Vorsselmans (BEL) and Jolita (Arezzo VDL x Quasimodo Z) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, finishing only elven-hundredths of a second off their pace (58.89 seconds).
Three different nations claimed the top three spots on the podium due to Bas van der Aa (NED) and Shanroe Barney‘s (Dallas x Elcaro) third-place finish in 60.98 seconds.
