
Oliva Nova, Spain – November 05, 2022 – Julien Epaillard (FRA) has been the most consistent rider in the world so far this year and the third-ranked rider in the world was on top form again on Saturday at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour CSI 3*. He teamed up with Chana de Valeme for the win in the €25,590 Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort Trophy CSI 3*.
The Flying Frenchman and the 2012 black Selle Français mare (Nabab de Reve x Urbain du Monnai) had to overcome not only the 1.45m obstacles in the tiebreaker but also 10 other combinations, delivering the fastest clean performance in 31.60 seconds for the win.
Andres Vereecke (BEL) and Ona van de Begijnakker (Comme Il Faut 5 x Palestro Vd Begijnakker) were the closest ones, falling short for a second-place finish due to their final time of 33.28 seconds.
France managed to conquer two of the top three positions on the podium. Olivier Robert (FRA) and Vadrouille d’Avril (Popayann x Quatar de Plape) completed the podium by registering no penalties while stopping the timers in – 34.93 seconds during the tiebreaker.
