
Sunshine Tour, Vejer de La Frontera – October 27, 2022 – Today’s competition day at the Montenmedio equestrian facilities got off to a strong start with the most important test of the CSIO 3* so far, the 1.50m Speed Challenge, held on the Milton sand ring. A total of 27 combinations jumped course, but the Irish Niamh McEvoy (IRL) with her young eight-year-old mare Aconzina PS (‘Action-Breaker’ x ‘Conthargos’) who finally emerged victorious, completing the course flawlessly in just 65.40 seconds . A combination that had already stood out and placed on the podium in some tests of the 1.40, circuit, the duo were even better today, registering the best performance in the highest test of the Andalucía October Tour.
Second place was claimed by the host nation, Jesús Garmendia Echevarría (ESP), who rode Sandano 2 (Sandro Boy x ‘Boixac SA’) towards silver honors after a penalty-free run in 67.60 seconds.
Jeroen Appelen (BEL) and Ghost Z (Game Boy D x Quentucky) rounded out the top three with no penalties too but with the third-fastest clean mark, being timed in 67.78 seconds.
The Top-5 of this interesting test were completed by the Swedish Stella Röhlcke with ‘Delina’ and the French Emeric George with ‘Dune du Ru’.
