
Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – October 21, 2022 – Abdullah Al-Sharbatly (KSA) and Vintadge de La Roque got the host nation off to a great start on Friday at the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) of Riyadh CSI 5* & CSI 2*. The duo sped to victory in the first FEI-level class of the day, the €25,500 Ministry of Sport Trophy CSI 2*.
The Saudi rider and the 13-year-old bay Selle Français gelding (Kannan x Galoubet A) were supreme in the 1.45m speed challenge after completing the course in flawless fashion, being timed in 62.10 seconds.
Bader Mohammed Alfard (KSA) and Moeen (Lord Z x Voltaire) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, finishing second only eleven hundredths of a second behind.
To the delight of spectators cheering for the host nation, Saad Alajmi (KSA) and Freedom (Eldorado v. Zeshoek x Corland) completed the all-Saudi podium, registering no penalties in 66.72 seconds.
