Grimaud, France – September 22, 2022 – Robin Muhr (ISR) and Baccarat Meniljean raced to victory in the €25,500 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 5* on Thursday during the third week of the Hubside Jumping’s Fall Tour at Haras des Grillons.
The Israeli and the 2011 bay Selle Français gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Dollar du Murier) were supreme in the 1.45m contest, overcoming 54 other combinations by posting a penalty-free performance in 60.57 seconds.
Besides winning the feature class of the day, the €55,000 Hubside Store CSI 5*, Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) came close to scoring two victories on the same day, guiding Crack Balou (Balou du Reventon x Chacco-Blue) towards silver honors, just thirteen hundredths (61.70) of a second behind the eventual winners.
Victor Bettendorf (LUX) added another top-three finish to his long list of great achievements at the venue. This time, he teamed up Simolo de La Roque Z (Spartacus TN x Casall) for bronze honors, doing so after a clean effort in 61.77 seconds.
Winner’s Circle – Robin Muhr (ISR)
“Baccarat Meniljean was very fit and very comfortable for this first day of competition at the Hubside Jumping Grimaud-Golfe de Saint-Tropez. The course was a good first 5* course, with several clear rounds, which is not surprising given the high level of the field this week. So we had to go very quickly and I’m lucky because Baccarat is very fast. I think he will take part in the 1.50cm test tomorrow, then we will see then according to how this test went.”
