Grimaud, France – September 16, 2022 – Lorenzo de Luca (ITA) and Dirka de Blondel were at their very best to win the €25,500 Hubside Store Speed Challenge CSI 2* on Friday during the second week of the Hubside Jumping Fall Tour at Haras des Grillons.
The Italian and Poden Farms’ 2013 bay Selle Français mare (Very Berlin de Castel x Lauterbach) blazed through the course, not only clearing all the obstacles but registering the fastest time of 57.91 seconds for the win.
Cathleen Driscoll (USA) and Magnolia (Mylord Carthago*HN x Van Gogh) were just over a half-second slower, securing the runner-up position on the podium in 58.42 seconds.
Billy Twomey (IRL) and Frenchy VDS (Cornet Obolensky x Quidam de Revel) were right on the heels of the latter twoo, completing the podium backed by a penalty-free performance in 58.59 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Lorenzo de Luca (ITA)
“We were able to take the first distance on all the jumps today. Dirka is naturally a very fast mare and we were able to do a good first round yesterday on the 1.40m. I knew that today I could count on her 100%. The faster she goes, the more respectful she is. It was a fun event, I think we had as much fun as each other.”
