Grimaud, France – September 16, 2022 – Fifty-two combinations took part in the €51,400 Hubside Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* on Friday during the Hubside Jumping Fall Tour’s CSI 4* & CSI 2*. After having already won yesterday’s speed event, Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Blood Diamond du Pont were victorious again in this 1.50m challenge.

The French rider and the 2011 bay Selle Français gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Arpege Pierreville) were more than three seconds ahead of their compatriot Simon Delestre (FRA) and I Amelusina R 51 (Dexter R x Chin Chin), stopping the timers in 38.81 compared to 42.01 by the runners-up.
Zoe Conter (BEL) completed the podium with La Una (Chacco-Blue x For Pleasure), also registering a clean scorecard before tripping the final timers in 42.53 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Julien Anquetin (FRA)
“I’ve been riding Blood Diamond since he was eight years old and he’s just getting better. From competition to competition he is improving, even today, and it is very encouraging for the future. Today, I didn’t worry at all about the other pairs in the jump-off. I know that my horse is very fast naturally. I took off quietly from number one but tightening my curve a lot between one and two. Then, I tightened each turn to the shortest. In the last line, I stayed inside the tack and took out one stride compared to the other competitors. This is where I gained the most time I think. We try to remain pragmatic and mount each event after the other, but it is true that each victory strengthens confidence and encourages the following ones. “
