Grimaud, France – September 15, 2022 – The opening event of the CSI 4* of the Hubside Fall Tour, also the first event counting for the world ranking, crowned Britain’s Guy Williams (GBR) Thursday afternoon at Haras des Grillons. In the saddle on his faithful partner Rouge de Ravel, the Brit teamed up with the 17-year-old Selle Français stallion (Ultimo van Ter Moude x Quouglof Rouge), completing a perfect course in 60.81 seconds for the win.
With 90 combinations taking part in the 1.45m speed challenge, the British rider finished ahead of two French competitors. Simon Delestre (FRA) rode Tinka’s Hero (Tinka’s Boy x Caretino) towards silver honors while Julien Anquetin (FRA) and Gravity Of Greenhill (Nabab de Reve x Conterno-Grande) completed the podium in 62.50 seconds.
Winner’s Circle – Guy Williams (GBR)
Having God Save the Queen played today is strong enough and it’s a way of showing our respect. Coming back to today’s race, I think Rouge de Ravel feels particularly good here. He is very fast in this type of event and he showed it again today after his victory last week.”
