A Nitro-Charged Performance by Nicolas Delmotte to Win the €53,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2* at Valence

Valence, France – August 28, 2022 – If France was denied a victory in the €100,000 Hubside Store Grand Prix CSI 3*, the same can not be said about the €53,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2*. In fact, the host nation claimed all the top three spots on the podium. Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) was victorious aboard Citadin du Chatellier on the final day of the Hubside Jumping Valece CSI 3* & CSI 2* at Haras des Grillons.

At the end of the initial round, eighteen couples had qualified for the jump-off, including some top names in the discipline such as Pius Schwizer (SUI), François Mathy Jr. (BEL) or even the young Mégane Moissonnier (FRA), a rising figure in the sport. It was necessary to take tight turns hard and negotiate perfect curves in this second round to claim the victory.

It was the French Northerner who signed the fastest clear round of the jump-off aboard the 2012 bay Selle Français gelding (L’Arc de Triomphe x Diamant de Semilly). If some riders managed to lower their mark by close to one second, worrying the Habs, none succeeded without having penalties attributed to them.

Benôit Cernin (FRA) and Dynamite du Miral (Nabab de Reve x Alligator Fontaine) came the closest, finishing second due to their jump-off time of 35.56 seconds.

Marie Demonte (FRA) and Espona du Quesnoy (Ogrion des Champs*HN x Nabab de Reve) completed the all-French podium, doing so backed by a penalty-free performance in 36.03 during the tiebreaker.
