The second of the twelve combinations that had qualified for the jump-off clearly left no chance for the competition. Boisset bested the field by guiding the 2007 chestnut Selle Français mare (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Diams du Grasset) flawlessly in the tiebreaker before dashing across the finish line in 36.87 seconds.

Cathleen Driscoll (USA) & Flotylla

Cathleen Driscoll (USA) and Flotylla (Alvaro 121 x Bajou du Rouet) have been consistent throughout their summer tour in Europe and it was no different this time. The American overcame many much more experienced riders from the host nation, securing silver honors after two penalty-free performances, the decisive one in 38.20 seconds.

The host nation managed to secure 10 of the top 11 placings. Jean Luc Mourier (FRA) and Kielekoo van T&L (Carabas Vd Wateringhoeve x Canadian River) finished in third place, backed by a second fault-free effort in 39.35 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Harold Boisset (FRA)

“For the past few months, I have had a feeling of confidence and security with my mare, which is incredible. She has always been an excellent mare, very fast, but at the moment we have unfailing serenity. Today, she had a very good first run. We were twelve jump-off riders and I knew that the competitors who would start after me could be very fast. So I took all the risks. In the first line of the jump-off, I would have liked to take one less stride, as several other competitors did, but it allowed me to turn very short on landing from the vertical and finally, I think I saved time in this spot. The Hubside Jumping Valence is always a magnificent event and the public, very warm, gives us a little extra boost when entering the course. It was perfect ! “
