Dublin, Ireland – August 20, 2022 – Ireland continued to shine on home soil as Tipperary’s Trevor Breen (IRL) rode Germaine W to victory in the Dublin Stakes CSIO 5* on Saturday during the 2022 edition of the Dublin Horse Show CSIO 5* at the Royal Dublin Society.
Only six of the forty-eight combinations that took part in the first round of the 1.50m challenge managed to leave all the poles up, thus advancing to the jump-off. In the end, the Irishman and the 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood mare (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x Armstrong) were not only clean again , crossing the finish line in 36 seconds flat.
The host nation showed supremacy once again, not only claiming the win but also a second-place finish. Mark McAuley (IRL) guided Jasco Vd Bisschop (Dulf van den Bisschop x Krunch de Breve) towards silver honors, backed by a clean scorecard and a final time of 36.23 seconds.
The third spot on the podium was claimed by French rider Megane Moissonnier (FRA). She worked her magic on Bracadabra (Pacific des Essarts x Couleur Rubin), finishing only twelve-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two (36.35 seconds).
