“Of course we are going for a podium place, but the most important thing is qualifying for the Paris Olympics. For that we have to finish in the top five countries (excluding France). There are six or seven very strong teams right now and anything is possible. We are in shape, but in a championship it should not be too bad.”

In jumping, five combinations may travel to Herning, four of which will start for the team and in the World Cup. The fifth/reserve combination will start in the CSI 3* competition that is on the program next to the World Cup classes. Willem Greve, Harrie Smolders, Maikel van der Vleuten and Sanne Thijssen will defend the Dutch tricolor in Herning. Jur Vrieling is traveling reserve, first reserve is Hessel Hoekstra.
