
Aachen, Germany – July 03, 2022 – The Belgian rider, Wilm Vermeir (BEL), competed at the CHIO Aachen for the first time this year. And he has certainly achieved some fantastic results. Especially with his speed specialist, Linguini de la Pomme, with whom he left her fellow colleagues trailing behind for the third time in a span of four days, this time claiming top honors in the โฌ26,000 Rรถwer & Rรผb Prize CSI 5* on Sunday to conclude his great participation at the World Equestrian Festival.
Vermeir competed in four classes with the eleven-year-old Belgian Warmblood mare, Linguini de la Pomme ( (Marius Claudius x Tinkaโs Boy), in Aachen, having won three of them and caming second once. He also came second with the Belgium team in the โฌ1,000,000 Mercedes-Benz Nations Cup CSIO 5* with his top horse, IQ van het Steentje. The Belgian crowned his participartion there topping the 1.45-metre-high speed class in a time of 58.43 seconds. His debut in Aachen couldnโt have gone better!
The level of the competition was very high, judging by the two riders who followed him on the podium. Brazilโs legendary Olympic gold medallist, World Champion and World Cup Final Champion, Rodrigo Pessoa (BRA) finished second with Venice Beach (Voltaire x Escudo I) on a time of 58.78 seconds.
Ashlee Bond (ISR) and Donatello 141 (Diarado x Lamoureux I) were right on the heels of the Brazilian legend, rounding out the top three with no penalties in 58.96 seconds.
