
Sopot, Poland – June 12, 2022 – The 2022 edition of the CSIO 5* of Sopot has had a wide variety of riders representing nations from all over the world and once again a different competitor climbed onto the top of the podium on Saturday as Elian Baumann (SUI) and Little Lumpi E rode to victory in the PLN $103,500 Lotto Prize CSIO 5* at Hipodrom Sopot.

Ten out of the forty-four combinations who participated in the first round, managed to clear all the 1.50m obstacles within the time allowed and advance to the tiebreaker. The Swiss and the 11-year-old chestnut Westphalian gelding (Lordanos x Polidor) were supreme in the decisive phase after their second fault-free performance of the day, this time in 41.83 seconds.
Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) guided Nababette Z (Nabab de Reve x Gasper ) towards silver honors, matching the clean scorecard of the eventual winners while completing their jump-off effort in 43.49 seconds.
Switzerland managed to secure two of the three top spots in the contest. Niklaus Schurtenberger (SUI) and C-Steffra (Clarimo x Lavall) also registered two penalty-free runs, the second one in 43.64 seconds.
