Gregory Cottard & Cocaine du Val Victorious in Botanique Prize CSIO 5* at Sopot

Sopot, Poland – June 09, 2022 – The 2022 edition of the CSIO Sopot got underway on Thursday and it was a Frenchman who claimed victory in the most important contest of the day. Gregory Cottard (FRA) got off to a great start at Poland’s most important equestrian event by claiming top honors in the PLN $103,750 Botanique Prize CSIO 5*.

Cottard teamed up with Cocaine du Val, a 10-year-old chestnut Selle Français mare (Mylord Carthago x Si Tu Viens), registering the fastest clean performance in the speed challenge, overcoming all the 1.50m obstacles and 50 other combinations backed by their time of 60.45 seconds.

One of the most consistent combinations the past few months, with several top three finishes, Tobias Meyer (GER) and Casablanca H (Conteur) did not disappoint, adding another second-place finish to their streak of great results, registering no penalties in 61.68 seconds.

The third spot on the podium was claimed by Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) and Casemiro CC (Cachas x Contender), who were also fault-free, tripping the timers in 62.23 seconds.
