
St Gallen, Switzerland – June 04, 2022 – It was a super Sunday for showjumping at 2022 edition of the Longines CSIO 5* of St. Gallen. Three major FEI-classes took place on the grass arena and it was Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) and Vestmalle des Cotis who were victorious in the highly contested €100,000 Land Rover Speed & Handiness Challenge CSIO 5*.
The German guided the 13-year-old chestnut Selle Français chestnut gelding (Baloubet du Rouet x Landor S) over all the 1.50m obstacles before crossing the finish line in 91.07 seconds.
Marcus Ehning (GER) with Calanda 42 (Calido I / Chasseur I) gave the winners a run for their money, finishing second only two-tenths off the winning time.
The difference to the next highest-placed combination was even tighter. Gregory Whatelet (BEL) and Berline du Maillet (Berlin x Action-Breaker) rounded out the top three with no penalties in 91.33 seconds, just six-hundredths of a second slower than the previous pair.
