Pius Schwizer & Bakatina de Beaufour are the Best in Speed Challenge CSI 4* at Bourg-en-Bresse

Bourg-en-Bresse Ain, France – May 19, 2022 – The first day of FEI-level competition at the Jumping International de Bourg-en-Bresse took place on Thursday and it was the Swedish anthem that was heard during the awards ceremony of the €26,000 Leclerc Cap Emeraud Challenge CSI 4*.

The first test of the week didn’t pose much difficulty to the star-studded list of competitors since thirty out of the 68 combinations who participated in the 1.50m speed challenge were able to clear the course within the time allowed. Among the ones who had a clean scorecard, it was Pius Schwizer (SUI) who put on the winning performance aboard Bakatina de Beaufour, guiding the 2011 bay Selle Français mare (Ogano Sitte x Burggraaf) across the finish line in 61.44 seconds.

Spectators from the host nation were delighted as Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) rode Citadin du Chatellier (L’Arc de Triomphe x Diamant de Semilly) towards silver honors 61.94 seconds while Axel van Colen (FRA) secured the third spot on the podium on Veyron (Stakkato’s Highlight x Anton), stopping the timers in 62.62 seconds.

2) Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) & Citadin du Chatellier – 0 – 61.94
