An Untouchable Performance by Reynald Angot to Win €26,000 Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* at Bourg-en-Bresse

Bourg-en-Bresse Ain, France – May 20, 2022 – Reynald Angot (FRA) and Untouchable GIPS HDC were a pleasant surprise for equestrian fans on attendance at the Jumping International de Bourg-en-Bresse Ain CSI 4* & 2* on Friday. The duo overcame all the favorites to win the €26,000 Grand Bourg Agglomération CSI 4*.

The 1.50m jump-off challenge featured 67 combinations and 16 of them managed to advance to the decisive round. In the end, it was Angot and the 2008 chestnut Selle Français gelding (Portofino 46*La Silla x Socrate de Chivre*HN) 37.09

After winning the €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5* at the Royal Windsor Horse Show CSI 5* last Sunday, Gregory Wathelet (BEL) looked to ride his good momentum towards another podium finish. And that’s exactly what he did, guiding Berline du Maillet Z (Berlin x Action Breaker) towards the second-fastest clean peformance in the tiebreker, completing teh course just four-tenths (31.49) slower than the eventual winners.

France managed to conquer two out of the top three positions on the podium. Gregory Rulquin (FRA) and Verdi des Forets (Verdi x Richerbourg) secured bronze honors after a penalty-free jump-off run in 38.05 seconds.
