The Flash or Superman? Both! Chalou Propels Emanuele Gaudiano to the Top at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud

Grimaud, France – April 29, 2022 – Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) is one of the fastest riders in the world and one of the winningest ones when it comes to competing at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud. On Friday, the Italian version of The Flash teamed up with the spectacular Chalou to secure the win in the €25,500 Hubside Store CSI 5*.

Chalou is certainly a fan favorite amongst equestrian lovers, in a very peculiar way. Whereas most horses bend their front ends going over an obstacle, the 2009 chestnut chestnut Oldenburg gelding (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) stretches his, just like when superman flies, amazing crowds wherever he goes. This peculiar technique has not hindered his performance at all. The dynamic duo were at the very best once again, registering a double clear score before securing the win in 37.30 seconds.

Gudrun Patteet (BEL) and Sea Coast Enjoy Z ( Emerald Van’T Ruytershof x Parco) put in two valiant efforts too, but their time of 38.58 seconds was not enough, meaning that they had to settle for second place.

Jean Luc Mourier (FRA) and Captain Keen (Cornet Obolensky x Acord II) gave the home crowd something to cheer about, rounding out the top three with no penalties and a jump-off time of 38.91 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA)

“Chalou had a little break after the tour in the United Arab Emirates then I rode him two weeks ago in small classes here and this morning was his first big class. He jumped both runs very well today and I’m delighted. The jump-off was airy and I was able to let it gallop. I didn’t go extremely fast but that was enough and it’s perfect. I think I will ride Chalou in the CSI 2 Grand Prix * Sunday.”
