Grimaud, France – April 08, 2022 – Catch them if you can! Julien Anquetin (FRA) has been the star of the Hubside Jumping CSI 3* & CSI 2* the past two days. This time, the Frenchman flew to victory in the €15,000 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 3*, held during the first week of the Hubside Jumping Spring Series.
Anquetin has climbed onto the podium in the first three major FEI classes of the week, earning a win, a second-place finish and now another win aboard Cesus de Fougnard, this time in the 1.45m contest against the clock. The flying Frenchman and the 2012 bay Selle Français gelding (Tlaloc M x Calvaro) left all the poles up for no penalties, completing their performance in 58.51 seconds for the victory.
The outcome was as closes as it gest, with Jean Luc Mourier (FRA) and Zina (Comte x Chasseur) finishing second only three-hundredths off the mark set by the eventual winners.
Just as in the previous two major contests, the talented group of French riders gave no chance to foreigners, claiming all the top three placings. Mathieu Lambert (FRA) and Airmes des Baleines IDiamant de Semilly x Nidor Platiere) registered a clean scorecard too, earning bronze honors in 59.34 seconds.
