Kronenberg, The Netherlands – April 03, 2022 – The French flag rose higher above the rest on Sunday at the Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen as Alexis Borrin (FRA) and Doligo de St. Leger claimed top honors in the €25,500 Parkhotel Horst Grand Prix CSI 2*.
A total of the 31 combinations had qualified for the first round of the feature class of the week on a course designed by Cédric Longis (FRA), with eight of them advancing to the jump-off. In the end, it was Borrin (FRA) and the 2013 bay Selle Français gelding (Hooligan de Rosyl x Volchebnik)
The host nation was not disappointed as Dutch rider Marc Houtzager (NED) rode Holy Moley (Verdi TN x Warrant) to a second-place finish in the 1.45m challenge, backed by a fault-free jump-off effort in 38.34 seconds.
Despite having the disadvantage of being the first ones to go in the jump-off, Julia Houtzager-Kayser (AUT) and High Five (Toulon x Burggraaf NV) held on to third place as result of their clean performance just seven-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
