Julien Epaillard & Solero MS Top €26,400 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3* at Oliva Nova

Oliva Nova, Spain – January 27, 2022 – Julien Epaillard (FRA) has been on fire the last few weeks at the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour and that was the case again on Friday. Once again, the Flying Frenchman teamed up with Solero MS to win the €26,100 Dammann Reitplatz- u. Sportplatzbau GmbH Trophy CSI 3*, a class the dynamic duo had already won two weeks ago at the same venue.

The 1.45 contest served as one of the qualifiers for Sunday’s Grand Prix. Epaillard and the 2006 chestnut Hanoverian gelding (Silvio I x Espri / Richard Mangels) were supreme, advancing to and completing the second phase without a single penalty incurred to them, yet still managing to post the fastest final time of 25.67 seconds.

Karel Cox (BEL) and Curiano Van Maarle Z (Canabis Z x Germus R) were the closest ones, being almost a half-second second slower, crossing the final timers in 26.16 seconds.

Belgium managed to put their second among many of their illustrious riders on the podium as Emilie Conter (BEL) rode Clochard (Kashmir van Schuttershof x Cascadeur) towards bronze honors in 27.49 seconds.
