Abu Dhabi, The United Arab Emirates – January 28, 2022 – Wilm Vermeir (BEL) Joyride S felt the joyride of victory after claiming top honors in the €51,300 The Mother of Nation Diamond Tour CSI 4*- W on Friday during the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show CSI 4*-W & 2* at Al Forsan Resort in Abu Dhabi.
A total 39 combinations entered the main ring for the CSI4*-W 1.50m Longines Ranking class with eight of them advancing to the jump-off. The Belgian left the rest of the field in the dust, blazing through the course aboard the 13-year-old bay Belgian Warmblood stallion (Toulon x Pachat II), being time at 33.61 seconds.
Jur Vrieling (NED) put in good effort on Long John Silver 3 (Lasino San Patrignano Corrado) but the pair had to settle for second place after tripping the final timers in 35.48 seconds.
Great Britain (GBR) was not denied a podium finish this time. William Funnel (GBR) teamed up with Equine America Billy Picador (Billy Mexico x Animo) backed by penalty-free jump-off performance in 35.81 seconds.
