Pozan, Poland – January 21, 2022 – The Big Tour competition, counting for the world rankings and Cavaliada Tour, for the prize of LOTTO and under the patronage of Horse & Business Magazine, saw 50 riders on the starting list. The course proved selective, because only 6 of them managed to go clear over the 12-fence challenge. Home rider Kamil Grzelczyk (POL) flew through the jump-off to take the victory aboard Wibaro. It’s the athlete’s 24th win in a LR class, but the first one at a Cavaliada show. Angelos Touloupis (GRE) came close to winning with Blue Balou 5. Going as the last one he had the best jump-off time, but one fence down meant that he had to settle for 5th. Nevertheless, he now becomes the leader of the Cavaliada Tour ranking.
“There weren’t a lot of horses in the jump-off, I knew that the Greek is very fast and has a great horse, so I had to take a risk. He had to take an even bigger one, had one mistake and it was lucky for us today. In the years before, Wibaro was quite scared of the arenas here, because he is a really sensitive horse, and there’s always a lot happening here. But he’s a great example of how even 15-year-olds can constantly improve. He now takes it all with ease and patience and jumps amazing.” – said the winner.
Interestingly enough, second place today belonged to two Polish riders, who went through the jump-off in an identical time: Tomasz Miśkiewicz (POL) with Velvet Lazar and Michał Kaźmierczak (POL) with Whoopy Boy. Daria Kobiernik (POL) finished just outside the podium riding Sonet. It was a great day for Polish breeding as all of the home riders competed in the jump-off aboard polish-bred mounts.
