La Coruña, Spain – December 11, 2021 – After a super fast jump-off, it was Simon Delestre (FRA) and Cayman Jolly Jumper who came out on top in the €230,000 Longines Grand Prix CSI5*-W on Saturday during the CSI Casas Novas – A Coruña CSI 5*-W at the Casas Novas Equestrian Centre.
Once again, Santiago Varela (ESP) provided a demanding but fair 1.60m course that was contested by 42 combinations, with six of them advancing to the jump-off. The Frenchman and the 9-year-old bay Selle Français gelding (Hickstead x Quaprice Boimargot) were supreme in the tiebreaker by being the only ones to register a double clear performance.
Eoin McMahon (IRL) and Chakra (Casall x Quidam de Revel) were lightning fast in the decisive round but their final time of 35.48 seconds came at the expense of one rail down for four penalty-points, meaning that they would settle for second place.
Marc Houtzager (NED) and Sterrehof’s Dante N.O.P (Canturano x Phin-Phin) also fell victim to the need for speed, trying to claim top honors. The duo also had one pole down, securing bronze honors in 35.70 seconds.

2) Eoin McMahon (IRL) & Chakra – 0 / 4 – 35.48
