Julien Epaillard & Billabong du Roumois are Lightning Fast in €100,000 Marqués de Riscal Trophy CSI 5*-W

La Coruña, Spain – December 10, 2021 – One of the winningest riders so far this year, Flying Frenchman Julien Epaillard (FRA) was up to his old tricks again, teaming up with Billabong du Roumois to steal the spotlight in the €100,000 Marqués de Riscal Trophy CSI 5*-W on the opening day of the CSI Casas Novas – A Coruña CSI 5*-W.

Epaillard and the 10-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Mylord Carthago x Papillon Rouge) were much faster than any of the 39 combinations that participated in the 1.55m speed challenge. In fact, over five seconds faster than their closest rivals, keeping all the poles up on the cups before blazing across the finish line in 57.93 seconds.

Michael Pender (IRL) and HHS Calais (Cavalier Royale x Obos Quality 004) put in a solid effort while still being clear, securing silver honors in 63.54 seconds.

Olivier_Philippaerts (BEL) and Miro (Diamant de Semily x Kannan) also mastered the course before registering a penalty-free performance, rounding out the top three in 63.87 seconds.
