Valence, France – December 03, 2021 – Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) and Elzas galloped towards gold in the €25,400 Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 4* on Friday during the second week of the Hubside Jumping Valence‘s Winter Tour at Haras des Grillons.
The Italian and the 2009 bay Dutch Warmblood gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Cornet Obolensky) overcame 34 other combinations in the 1.45m challenge, clearing all the obstacles before crossing the finish line in 57.55 seconds.
After winning the €25,400 Special Two-Phase CSI 4* the previous day at the same event, Emanuele Gaudiano (ITA) and Carlotta 232 ( Chaccomo x Cento) came close to registering their second win of the week, earning reserve honors in 57.92 seconds.
Mark Mcauley (IRL) and GRS Lady Amaro tried to give the Italians a run for their money but the duo had to settle for third place after a penalty-free performance in 58.79 seconds.
